What Causes Chronic Diarrhea Along With Fever, Chills And Body Aches?

Hi! I have been having diarrhea for 13 days. I don t have fever, chills, body aches, etc. I occassionally have stomach pain that can be anywhere between very mild to almost severe. I was on Amoxicillin, Prednisone and a nasal spray for a severe sinus infection that lasted for 10 days. On day 8, the diarrhea started and hasn t stopped. Could this be candida in the gut? I m prone to yeast infections, but have always had them vaginally. The only thing, there is no smell whatsoever to the diarrhea. Occassionally, when I pass gas, it will smell awful, but never the stool itself. Thank you!!

Persistent diarrhea could be caused by many medical conditions.Some possible causes may include: viral, bacerial and parasitic digestive infections, antibiotic(amoxcillin)-induced diarrhea...Yeast or candida infections are possible parasitic infections that may cause diarrhea.However, i will advise you see the Doctor for a stool exam and culture.From the results, the cause of your symptoms may be identified.In the meantime, i will advise the following:
-Take oral rehydration salt to replenish the fluid and ions losses
-Take zinc tablets to help in intestinal mucosa repair
-Take an anti-diarrheal like imodium
-A pain/anti-pyretic drug like paracetamol may also help
From the results of the stool test, your Doctor will help with the rest of the management.
