Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For the past several months I have been having several watery bowels movements a day. I haven t had a bowel movement now in 5 day and have LOTS of pain in my upper and lower stomach. I have taken laxatives for 12 hours as directed and only have watery stool with NO solid stools. PLEASE HELP and thank you.
There are various reasons of pain abdomen and watery stools. Most commonly it is due to some intestinal infections-viral or bacterial. It can be due to consumption of too much outside food.
However, diabetes, thyroid disorders or inflammatory bowel disease(related to inflammation of intestine)can be the other causes.Even stress and anxiety can sometimes causes recurrent diarrhea.
So I Feel first of all focus on your diet.Take bland food.Do not over eat.Avoid outside and spicy and oily food.Relax.
Take plenty of water. If still the symptoms persist do go for some investigations like complete blood count,CRP,FBS, TSH, helicobacter pylori,Stool routine and ultrasound abdomen.Once the results come then we can know the exact cause.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Milinda Gupta
