General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You are suffering from chronic diarrhea and weight gain. You are an elderly person and are suffering from liquid stool, increased bowel movement and discomfort. You are suffering from IBS, you are suggested to avoid food that triggers your symptoms. Take high-fiber foods, drink plenty of fluids, exercise regularly and get adequate sleep.

Avoid high-gas food like carbonated and alcoholic beverages and certain foods that may lead to increased gas. Avoid gluten. Always take food that is gluten free. People with IBS improve in diarrhea symptoms by stopping to eat gluten (wheat, barley and rye) even if they don't have celiac disease. Take anti-diarrheal medications as and when required. Get clinically examined and get all required tests and investigations done. Get treated at the earliest. Stay away from addictions if any.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
