What Causes Chronic Diarrhea While Suffering From Thyroid Dysfunction?
I have had diarrhea for 3 or 4 months now. It is very foul smelling, watery yellow and is very urgent with occasional incontinence. My dr increased my thyroid med from 25 to 50 mcg this summer. Could this be the cause? I have not had my TSH rechecked since the dosage change. I have also lost about 20 lbs in this time.

Hi,
While thyroxine itself can cause diarrhea, and you should check your TSH but only 50 micrograms is unlikely to cause this much diarrhea.
This much diarrhea along with weight loss would need proper work up with a gastroenterologist to rule out other causes of diarrhea.
