What Causes Chronic Diarrhoea After Being Treated For Knee Replacement Surgery?
Checking on why my friend took antibiotic thru pic line for 6weeks due to knee surgery. Caused diahrea that keep her in bathroom 20 out of 24hours. Dr removed pic line but diahrea continued, Dr told her he would have to give her antib in pill form and that s all he could get rid of problem. This does not make sense
hello! I have been through your question. Related your concern I think this is diarrhea caused by clostridium difficile. You should know that Infection is most common in people who are hospitalized,Taking antibiotics can kill the good bacteria (normal flora) that colonized intestine, allowing C. difficile to multiply and release toxins that damage the cells lining the intestinal wall, causing diarrhea. An oral antibiotic is usually recommended to treat people who are infected with C. difficile usually metronidazole or vankomycini. I hope my answer help you. I wish your friend a quick recovery.
