Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Chronic Dizziness And Nausea With History Of Hodgkin S Lymphoma?
My son was treated and in remission with Hodgkin s lymphoma for 9 years. Treated at MDAnderson, the best...He has suffered with reoccurring dizzy spells and it seems to be more often. He was examined by a neurologist at MDA 3 yrs ago and was told it was vertigo. it is worse now and he looks very weak and can not eat or hold food down at times. Granted, he is not a child (40) but we have had no solid results. Please advise what our next step is...
The remission phase of Hodgkin's lymphoma does not pause great disturbance to that level of inability to eat or hold food down at times. Your son requires systemic evaluation with various parameters such as: - Complete hemogram - Serum electrolytes - Serum protein levels - Fasting sugar and lipid profile - Ultrasound of the abdomen and pelvis with upper GI endoscopy
After thorough clinical examination and results of above findings, one may reach for a possible differential diagnosis list and later on narrow down it as per the clinical expertise. However, if any of the reports are available with you, kindly share with me during follow up discussion box.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
