What Causes Chronic Fatigue While Suffering From Diabetes?

I have been extremely tired....exhausted actually and it is impacting my life. I do have diabetes in my family. My mom was diaganosed in her early 40s and my dad much later (around the age of 75). I was also geastational diabetes and on insulin to treat it. I am now 47 and I am West Indian. The last time I had bloodwork done (about 18 months ago) I was IGT. Could my fatigue be related to diabetes?

Hii ,
Welcome To HCM & Thanks For Asking Your Query Here

I have gone through Your query and will try to provide information you need on it

from the history You provided of course your fatigue can be related to your Diabetes
as you said you have done blood test before 18 months i would say it is too long interval and you must undergo blood test again to check your blood sugar levels

However it is very well possible that your fatigue may not be caused by diabetes at all. Other medical conditions can also cause fatigue including -
-Anemia, or low red blood cell counts.
-Low thyroid (“hypothyroidism”)
-Infections- People with diabetes often have infections they don’t know about it
or any other illness may be there but seriously you need a medical check up done to rule out any underlying disease

so i would strongly suggest you to visit your GP as soon as possible

I hope it help
