What Causes Chronic Headaches And Abdominal Cramps During Menstruation?

I think I have had a miscarriage. My period before this one was like 3 days but was not heavy at all and was a light red sometimes pink, did not look anything like my normal. This period is a dark red almost brown with alot of very little clots (also look nothing like the normal), day 1 I had a horrible headache, lighthead, bad cramps and my back as been killing me. Today is day 3 and still the same thing. Is this a sign of a miscarriage?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

This may be a normal period, sometimes, women do get heavier bleeding with the periods and if there is heavy bleeding there may be clots as well. If you are worried if you had a miscarriage you may have a pregnancy test. If it is negative then very likely this is a menstrual period. If the pregnancy test is positive, you will need to see your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
