sir,my mother aged 55yr had a major heart attack 15 days back due 2 complete block of upper coronary artery,she has been given medicines and discharched with an advice to go for stunting or by pass within 2 months.now sir she is getting frequent hiccups.plz suggest a medicine 4 her.tq
Syrup mucaine gel or viscus lidocaine 20ml three to four times a day. Or tab baclofen 25mg per orally. If refractory can try valsalva maneuvers which include blowing with nose and mouth closed. If still refractory then inj serenade 2 to 5mg iv or chlorpromazine 25 to 50mg I'm is helpful. Always consult a doctor for persistent hiccups to rule out diaphragmatic etiology
