What Causes Chronic Indigestion Despite Taking Pepto-Bismol?

I am having burning in the abdomen above the waist. Bad indigestion. This area swells up really big and I have constant aching. My doctor ordered a sonogram to be done and the test was clear, nothing found. Previously I visited the ER and there were tests ran that came out not showing any problems. The ER physician said he was going to guess that I have an ulcer and he prescribed medication. I was uncomfortable with him guessing and not sure if I should take medication that I am not sure what the side effects would be. So I treat my symptoms with pepto bismal. It takes time but it does help relieve the indigestion. I am not sure what to do at this point, I keep having symptoms, and not getting advice to cure this problem. How can I get healed of this problem.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, if this is the ulcer condition (Confirmed) then it has to be given treatment with specific medicine least concern what the side effects are there but important is diagnosis, it may not be peptic ulcer if not tested with specific test hope this information helps.
