Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my eyelashes have been itching, increasing in severity for about a month. When I pick at them it looks like something is flying off them, but I cant see it on my fingers. It also feels like things are on my eyebrows and face. My eyelash line is now red, and my eyes are swollen in the mornings. Do I have some sort of bugs?
The itching is likely dermatitis which simply means that there is irritation/inflammation of the skin. There are different causes and types of dermatitis.
It is possible that it may be due to reaction to any products that are applied in that area (contact dermatitis ) or it may be seborrheic dermatitis. Seborrheic dermatitis may be associated with scaliness or flakes.
Both may cause swelling as part of the body's inflammatory response.
The treatment would differ. With contact dermatitis, you would avoid contact with the offending agent and apply a short course of topical steroids. With seborrheic dermatitis, an antifungal may also be needed.
It may be best to see your doctor or a dermatologist for the exact diagnosis.
I hope this helps
