Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Chronic Joint Pain When Diagnosed With Congenital Arthritis?
I have had joint pain since my early 20 s. barometric changes seem to trigger it. I have been asking my doctors about it all along and have gotten no answers. The initial doctor who diagnosed it said it was congenital arthritis. I have had x-rays recently in an attempt to find the problem and have been told I have minimal arthritis in the hip. I currently have pain in my neck, shoulders and hip. The joint pain frequently is in my knees and ankles. Since it seems arthritis is not the answer, what other things might account for my pain? I would very much appreciate any information on what causes and how to relieve the pain. Thank you
Based on the history you have shared, it can be due to autoimmune or inflammatory conditions which cause joints destruction and pains. You need to have a detailed autoimmune workup for conditions like rheumatoid arthritis or spondyloarthropathies.
For that work up a close follow up with a rheumatologist is a must. Meanwhile, OTC analgesics like Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen along with supplements for calcium D3 and Ossein mineral complex can be used.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
