What Causes Chronic Left Sided Pain In Rib Cage?

I have severe left side pain that comes on out of no where. This has been going on for 2years the last 8 days I have had severe pain that lasts for 2-4 hours I m seeing a chiropractor with no relief. What is on my left side rib cage that could be coasting this?

Hi,

If there is a history of injury then I would advise you to get an X-ray done for the chest. In case there is no history of trauma then the cause could be muscular or cartilage. If the pain is at the junction of central chest bone and ribs then I would think of costochondritis, a condition where the joint of rib and central bone gets inflamed. If the pain is over the area below the rib cage involving internal organs, then u need to get the organs like stomach spleen etc., checked out for any disease.
