What Causes Chronic Lightheadedness With Metallic Taste In Mouth?
Hi, I have fainted twice before suffering with severe lightheadedness, dizziness and a metallic taste in my mouth. I am 19 years old with a balanced diet, I was once told I have a low blood sugar level but I was never tested for anything. I feel as if my dizzy spells are becoming more often and I keep feeling as if I am going to faint again. Is there anything I can do as I find it embarrassing becoming constantly dizzy having to sit down?
I share your concerns. You need to under go physical examination and detailed blood work up. This blood work up will include your sugar levels too. Most probable cause in this age group is anaemia (low haemoglobin level). You need to increase your fluid intake too, as dehydration is second important cause which is generally missed. If you have family history of diabetes, then it could be a cause.
I would advise you to visit a doctor and under go these tests and once cause is identified treatment can be planned. You will be fine and will be able to avoid embarrassment.
I hope my reply will benefit you. Please write to hcm for follow up queries. I wish you good health. Hit a thanks. Thank you
