Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Chronic Low Energy Levels With Hemochromatosis?
My symptons seem to be overal calcium defiecency that is despite taking 2,000 mg pills daily. Symptoms inIare extreme low energy which seems to affect my whole body including in particular my brain department. I also have heamochromatosis with 1 gene so no treatment has been subscribed other than diet. My guess is that these symptoms have been gradually increasing over the last 30 years or so and now that I am 79 years, the issue has become quite serious. Any ideas would be gratefuly appreciated. Low levels of calcium causes bodily functions much more difficult. Muscles twitch and get spasms easily. It makes feel weak and as if having low energy.
Hemochromatosis is the main concern in you. Iron overload over the years have made you fatigued and weak. You should also get screened for diabetes as Hemochromatosis causes diabetes as a complication of the disease.
Please consult your physician for screening of hypertension and diabetes as it causes patients of hemochromatosis feel even more weak.
