Hi I have had a migraine for three days now its just getting worse. Its on my left side of my head and its like a hard thumping pain that won t go away I ve been sleeping most of the time still won t go away doctors have given me sumatriptan migraine tablets which are not helping at all. Its just getting worse.
are you sure it is migraine? There are other types of headaches which may mimic migraines as well, although migraine is one of the most common causes of headache. It is always safe to be on the safe side and rule out other causes of headaches when symptoms are worsening or not responsive to treatment. if there is any uncertainty, please make sure to visit your doctor and have it checked out through further labs and imaging's.
if the diagnoses really is migraine, it could be treated with many options: avoiding triggers, simple analgesics, as needed antiemetics, preventative therapy, and if severe, treated with triptans. in the case triptans does not work, other options such as DHE nasal spray's, steroids may also be helpful.
