What Causes Chronic Muscle Soreness And Joints Ache?

My son is a 34 year old male and have since May experienced aches, muscle soreness, fatigue. He is also losing weight and nausea. He went to his doctor and he drew blood and all test came back good. He could barely walk, tie his shoes, and was in extreme pain.. He gave him a inflammation medicine and sent him to a rheumatologist. He has had a back x-ray and blood work and he can t find anything wrong with him. He now wants to do a chest x-ray and maybe send him to another specialist.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Does his fatigue worsens at a particular time of the day or it remains throughout the day? Does he have any vision abnormality or blurred vision?

It looks autoimmune disease. Needs complete autoimmune profile i.e ANA profile, autoantibodies like anti-dsDNA, anti-Smith, anti-Jo-1, anti-topoisomerase antibodies etc. Acetylcholinesterase antibodies.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
