Chronic upper
back pain might be caused by following reasons -
Poor posture for long time.
Muscular irritation due to overuse / excessive exercise
Muscular Injury
Stress
Carrying heavy backpack
Lifting heavy things or lifting improperly
Also you should get checked for herniated discs or degenerative
disc disease.
If you have a sitting job, bad posture and lots of stress, that might be one important cause of pain. However you must get properly diagnosed by personal examination by a physician.
Ayurveda recommends to first remove the cause of disease before treating it.
Stress -
Try
yoga and
meditation. "Let's meditate" app is a good option. Understand that stress over problems will create more problems. 99% of diseases are supposed to have psychological background.
Back Pain -
Try Ayurvedic
back massage. It enhances blood circulation and helps relieve the pain. You can have normal back massage at home with Mahanarayan oil and hot towel steam.
Treatment
Detoxification
Drink 2ml castor oil with 200 ml milk for first day. It might cause some loose motions. If it doesn't cause continue for second day. Take the medicine once a week.
From 2nd day take 10 ml of Dashmooladi Kwath early morning empty stomach. Avoid food for 30 mins after taking medicine for best results.
Medicine
Hingvashtaka Churna 1 tsp after every meal.
Lashunadi vati 2 tabs morning and evening with warm water
Haritaki powder 1 tsp with water before bed.
This is basic treatment without knowing your body constitution.
