What Causes Chronic Swelling And Redness Of Leg Along With Fever?

A 50 years old woman who emigrated from Haiti 15 years ago is seen in your clinic for chronic swelling of her right leg which is episodically becomes very red and swollen with accompanying fever. You order some blood tests to diagnose her suspected problem, specifically an antigen test for Wuchereria bancrofti, an anti filarial antibody test, and a blood smear to be drawn at midnight. The most likely findings will be:
A. Antigen negative, Antibody positive, blood smear positive

Chances of cellulitis may be there if want to rule out the filarial then direct smear test would be helpful blood need to be collected in evening time only, most important is clinical look and symptoms, hope this information helps, have a nice day, have a nice day.
