General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi. Sorry to hear about the problem of the kid.
Seeing upon your description , it seems that the kid is most probably having complaints of gastritis/acid peptic disease (gastric ulcer).
This is caused by excess acid secretion by the stomach that damages the stomach lining and causes the symptoms of pain/burning in upper mid abdomen region and/or nausea and vomiting.
Good to hear about your appointment with a gatroenterologist. It would help in reaching a confirmative diagnosis.
As the appointment is a bit late, meanwhile you can visit a general practitioner/ primary physician near you for a prescription of appropriate drugs that lower stomach acid secretion ( from proton pump inhibitor or antihistamine groups). Antacid syrups may also benifit. Additionally, she may need anti-emetic( that stop vomiting/nausea) agents.
I hope these lines might help you.
Wishing you and your family the best of health.
Regards.
