Hello Dear user, and thank you for using HCM service.
I can understand your situation.
You must understand that
thyroid dysfunction, is associated with losing or winning weight. It depends on what kind of disfunction. I understand by your information, that you have
Hypothyroidism, which courses with weight gain.
In hypothyroidism, the problems are not only weight gain, however in this situation I am going to focus in your actual concern.
You must understand that the cause of your weight gain, is your base thyroid problem, and if you don't treat it adequately, this is going to persist, even if you do diet.
You should do some hormone test, to know better your actual hormone level. It includes:
1. T3 AND T4
2.
TSH Level
However the correct treatment, consists in administration of T4 (
levothyroxine) analogues, (medication), in combination with a healthy diet.
The dosis in this case depends on your actual weight. Calculation is done basing on the following:
a) 1.7 mcg/kg/day; for example 100 to 125 mcg per day for a person which weight is 70 kg.
b) Presentation usually is 50 mcg to 100 mcg (Attention mcg, NO mg)
1 mg = 1000 mcg
c) Man, needs more dose than a women.
Remember, taking the daily dose, and a correct diet with exercise, is the key
to lose weight in your situation.
I hope to be useful with this information.
Get better soon.
And remember, health is first.
