What Causes Churning Sensation In Stomach And Nausea?

Everytime I stand up, there is a noticeable churning in my stomach accompanied by a nauseous feeling. Recently I have been having very bad acid reflux and yesterday my stomach was churning pretty badly. Is it something I ve eaten or simply acid reflux. I ve never experienced anything like this before.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

All your symptoms are suggestive of gastroesophageal reflux disease. Proton pump inhibitors should be taken half an hour before food for 2 weeks for symptoms to reduce. Always allow a gap of at least 45 minutes between dinner and sleep which will prevent acid reflux.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
