Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a circular indentation in my left buttock. I just noticed it this week. When I rub to feel the muscle under the skin, it feels like there is separation between upper and lower buttock. It doesn t feel at all like the other side which is consistent dense tissue throughout the entire curved buttock area. What causes this?

What Causes Circular Indentation In Buttock?
Hi, Welcome to health care magic, Based on your query, my opinion is as follows regarding your circular indentation over your left buttock. It could be due to muscle atrophy or it could be muscle pain following indentation or depression in buttock muscle. Also,i will hope there is no ulcer but I will need to see that area to comment exactly what the skin is and how looks. And hence you should see a surgeon who will examine it and start treatment. Meanwhile, take pain killers if there is unbearable pain otherwise no need to worry. Hope it helps. Regards,
