What Causes Circular Patch Of Blisters On Ankles And Upper Legs?

My son has a red ring like formation on both outside parts of his ankles. The ring like formation looks like pimples. He has had this since birth and it is not ringworm. It does not itch or bother him but my wife and I are starting to notice him getting the same ring in other areas of his body (upper leg and on finger). Any help would be greatly appreciated to let us know what this might be.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to granuloma annulare. It is a fairly rare, chronic skin condition which presents as reddish bumps on the skin arranged in a circle or ring. You should consult a dermatologist for a physical examination and proper treatment.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
