Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My mom experienced a bowel movement that was clay colored. She is 89 and is scheduled for a minimally invasive aortic valve replacement. She has been experiencing nausea for the last several weeks. All her blood tests are normal, upper gi series normal, abdominal sonogram normal and stool sample for h pylori was negative. In addition to an acid blocker she has been popping gaviscon like crazy. Do you think this could explain the clay color?
As per your history, it may be due gall bladder obstruction. To confirm diagnosis, kindly do ultrasound of the abdomen and a complete hemogram after consultation. You may require surgery in case of pain after consultation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
