What Causes Clear Vaginal Discharge When Diagnosed With Hypothyroidism?

Hello, I am a 22 year old female with hypothyroidism. I am currently taking 150mcg of eltroxin and have been since I was diagnosed when I was 17. I first got my period when I was 18. My period will last 5-7 days and my cycle will last 30-34 days. I stopped taking my eltroxin for a few months and recently started taking it again. Since I have started my eltroxin I have yet to start my period. I am currently on day 42 of my cycle. I took an at home pregnancy test and it stated negative. I have also been having clear discharge. Could me starting my eltroxin cause my period to be late?

Hello,

As you are getting this discharge time and again despite whole work up I would recommend following to you.

- get a vaginal swab test for the type of infection and antibiotic sensitivity. This will help find the cause.
- get your partner examined by a skin specialist as he might be the source of repeated infection
- always use a condom while having sex till you are relieved even if you are using any other method of contraception
- use V-wash for perineal cleaning daily as it will normalize the vaginal pH and help in eradication of infection
- use tablet ecoflora or vibact DS inside the vagina at night as it has good bacteria which will help in natural defense against infection.
-Get your fasting blood sugar levels tested.
