Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I sure hope so. I have been suffering with clicking in my right ear for years and had a tube inserted to see if that was the problem and it wasn t. The doctor said he couldn t find anything wrong. But recently I have been diagnosed with partial onset seizures and epilepsy, could this be a reason for the clicking because it has yet to stop.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.
As per your complain it seems that clicking sounds in right ear with no improvement with grommets placement can be due to the disturbances in the functioning of jaw joint known as Temporomandibular joint leading to TMJ/TMD..
As the jaw joint lies very close to ear therefore at times clicking from jaw joint is heard in ears and misdiagnosed with ear related problems..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get a thorough evaluation and a full mouth x-ray known as Orthopantomogram done..
The physician can evaluate you clinically and can also advise you mouth guards and physiotherapy.. Along with it avoid excessive mouth opening and take soft diet.
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
