Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I have a strange syptom occurring that has me concerned. My family has a history of heart disease. My chloesterol is high. I am sitting at my office desk on my computer and I keep hearing this gurgling, almost a repetitive clicking sound coming from my chest cavity. It happens at my heart beat intervals but I have no pain or other symptoms. It s like my heart is burping.....any thoughts??
These type of sounds can be heard in a very calm environment unless they are very noisy. The type of sound you are talking about may be murmurs as you have a family history of Cardiovascular disorders though you did not mention what type of.This is just my calculation, it may be something else which shall only be determined by proper examination.
I would suggest you consult a cardiologist immediately as any delay in identifying the problem can be hazardous. Meanwhile you please take care.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thanks, Dr. M Zahoor Bhat
