What Causes Clicking Sound In The Finger Joint?

My left thumb seems to stick at the first joint (the one closest to the nail). I can feel and hear an audible click when I move it. It s worst first thing in the morning. Generally speaking, it feels like the thumb is jammed . It s somewhat painful, but not horrible. Of note, I had bi-lateral neuroplasty on my hands in october 2015. The left hand has never really been the same. I believe these are related.

Hello. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Many people can make their fingers pop, often called cracking their knuckles. The sound you hear is thought to be caused by air bubbles moving in the fluid that surrounds your joints. ... That being said, if your noisy finger joints are associated with pain or swelling, it's good to see your doctor for an evaluation.
Hope I have answered your query. You can contact me for treatment options. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. K. V. Anand
