What Causes Clicking Sounds Coming From Neck Along With Neck Pain?
I have severe stenosis in two cervical discs with right arm numbness and some left leg numbness. I also hear lots of clicks etc in neck and have neck pain. All on left side. Would P/t help or is it time for surgery? I am fearful of cervical spine surgery. I am 50 years old and female. I am also pretty active.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Your problem can be most likely due to spurs from cervical spondylosis. The bony spurs and prolapsed discs can give such sounds. Muscle relaxants like cyclobenzaprine, NSAIDs like nimusulide and neurotropic drugs like pregabalin and mecobalamin will be helpful for this. Physiotherapy and muscle strengthening exercises should be done along with this. Most of the cases will recover with out the need of surgery. You can also use cervical traction device at home with the advise of your doctor. Avoid pillows or use orthopedic pillow for cervical spondylosis. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
