What Causes Clogged Ears And Tight Sensation In The Throat?
I am experiencing blocked ears, tightness in Throat some pleum and the odd time runny nose. At times I feel a little nauseous and dizzy. This has been going on for 6 months now. Any idea what it could be? I m scheduled to see a ENT but not for several months.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Clogged ears and tightness in throat is due to congestion in the pharynx and middle ear, might be due to an allergic reaction. Kindly do the following to overcome it. 1. Do salt water gargling with warm water twice daily. 2. Take steam inhalation twice daily. 3. Take decongestant medication containing Bromhexine, Chlorpheniramine maleate and Phenylephrine as ingredients thrice daily. 4. Use medicated lozanges for achieving throat soothening effect. 5. Avoid intake of cold items like cool drinks and ice-creams. Gradually, you should be able to get better and be back to normal. Hope this helps. Regards, Dr.Ashakiran.S., MBBS., MD.
