Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had difficulty with my ears feeling clogged and my voice feeling hoarse for about 2 years. First, my ears would feel clogged and when I would talk it sounded like I had my fingers in my ears. I am a singer/songwriter and this problem has kept me from performing. In the last year, my voice has become lower in pitch and sounding somewhat hoarse. I have been to an ENT doctor at the VA Hospital and he did an exam but was unable to find anything wrong. He ordered a CAT scan of my sinuses and found nothing but a slightly deviated septum. I clear my throat a lot, and I often feel as though I need to swallow something. Do you have any idea what is causing these symptoms?
In your case, just overuse of the vocal cords have caused hoarseness and damaged the treatment. Since every examination is normal then the mucosal lining us constantly irritated causing this. I would recommend you to have rest, use tea and honey, don't smoke or drink alcohol. Take vitamin A which will help mucosal regeneration.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
