What Causes Clogging In The Ear?

I have a clogged right ear. I tried normal procedure to make my right ear pop like swelling yawning taking sip of water closing nose and mouth...but those did not help much. Please help...there is no pain so that I can suspect eardrum rupture as well. Please help me.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain clogging of ear can be due to excess ear wax buildup while can also be commonly due to blocked Eustachian tubes and it is due to mucous or fluid accumulation within the eustachian tubes..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Otoscopy, x ray, MRI scan etc can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..

You can be advised to take a course of antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkillers , oral as well as nasal decongestants and anti allergics..
Steam inhalations can also help..

In case if still there is no resolution, you can be advised surgical drainage of the fluid by putting a small incision through the eardrum..
In severe cases pressure equalization tubes can also be placed in ears and they help in easing drainage and maintains equalization of pressure..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
