Hi,
The closing of the throat,
tingling sensation, and difficulty in swallowing that you experience during strenuous work could be caused by
exercise-induced asthma, also known as exercise-induced
bronchoconstriction. This is a condition in which the airways narrow during physical activity, causing symptoms such as wheezing, coughing,
shortness of breath, and chest tightness.
However, since you mention taking Zyrtec, it is also possible that you are experiencing allergic reactions, which can cause similar symptoms. It may be helpful to see an allergist to determine if you have any allergies that are triggering your symptoms.
Another possibility is
gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), in which stomach acid flows back into the esophagus, causing irritation and inflammation. This can lead to a sensation of a lump in the throat and difficulty swallowing. It's best to consult a healthcare provider for an evaluation and proper diagnosis, as they may recommend further testing or refer you to a specialist for further evaluation and treatment.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
