Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

The clot probably may have formed while insertion or it may be possibility of middle ear contents coming out. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what is the cause. Avoid water entry into ear. Use decongestant medication in case of pain. If no improvement please consult with your ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
