Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I get chronic cluster migraines, or so I have been told. Lately they have felt different. They start at the base of my neck instead of in my temple and have also been accompanied by nosebleeds. My emergency medicines (Imitrex and promethazane) aren t helping with them. So, I am taking Ketorolac as a stronger companion when needed. This is becoming quite frequent. I have also always had nausea, but usually I would vomit and the migraine would begin to fade finally. That is not the case. Yesterday for example, I vomited five times and had two nosebleeds before the migraine finally lessened enough for me to somewhat function again. Is this normal or is there a possibility there could be a hemorrhage or tumor present?
Cluster migraine is mostly due to stress and anxiety. So better to consult a psychiatrist and get done counselling sessions. Try to identify stressor in your life and start working on its solution.
You may need anxiolytic drugs (propranolol and flunarizine combination) too. Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Kaushal Bhavsar, Pulmonologist
