What Causes Cold Along With Low Grade Fever And Strawberry Tongue?
My son has had a cold for about a week now and at the beginning started off with a mild temperature for two days which has since cleared. He seems fine in himself but just has the remains of a runny nose left big has woken up with what looks like a strawberry tongue. He had scarlet fever back in January when this dos happen then but as he seems okay in himself with no other symptoms other than the tongue can a strawberry tongue be caused from common viral colds in children?
So for confirmation you need to consult a Pedodontist or a Paediatrician and get him evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigation like blood test can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
As of now if there is pain inside his mouth make him gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine.. You can also make him do warm saline gargle.. Giving Acetaminophen can help.. Give him steam inhalation.. Feed him with plenty of fluids..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
