What Causes Cold Along With Sore Throat And Cough?

Hi my name is Eric Wilson. I have a cold and not sure if you will understand. I had a little running nose and it turned out as a sore throat. But, after I had gotten to be able to take care of it and coughed up much mucus to hard that the next day my throat hurts again but having trouble not be able to cough since my back hurts and my nose is running a little shortage amount of breath feeling cold cold in my ears and not be able to sleep.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your query you have symptoms of cold along with sore throat and cough which is due to upper respiratory tract infection. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination as infection has already spread. You should get throat swab test, complete blood profile to find out extent of infection. Take steam inhalation and take proper rest. Keep yourself hydrated and do warm saline gargles . Maintain hygiene. Take diet rich in multivitamins. You should start with antibiotic such as Augmentin along with decongestants and anti inflammatory such as Levocetirizine .
