Hi Thanks for posting on HCM The symptoms you describe are in favor of a respiratory infection. Most of these infections are caused by viruses and symptomatic treatment will do.However, bacteria infection or superinfection is possible and will need antibiotics. The treatment the child is taking will be adequate to clear the respiratory problem if caused by viruses or allergy.Persistence of symptoms may mean a bacteria infection.I will suggest you see the Doctor for reevaluation and a chest x ray. From the result, a course of antibiotics may be prescribed if any arguments in favor of bacteria infection.I will also advise you avoid environmental irritants like cold, dust and smoke. Hope this will help Best regards
