Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
have had a cold and also had a very painful earache. my doctor gave me ear drops a month ago when i complained that they felt blocked up. so i used this in my ear. the pain was quite bad ...i know you are not supposed to use cotton buds but i did and a HUGE amount of wax came out. not there is much less pressure but it is leaking pinky coloured fluid and sounding like the ocean every couple of minutes or so.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain ear ache along with leaking pink fluid which occurred after cold ear are indications of ear infection and feeling of ocean is due to fluid accumulation behind the eardrum..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like otoscopy, x ray etc can help in diagnosis..
You can be advised antibiotic and analgesic ear drops along with oral antibiotics and painkillers and at times manual drainage of ears along with placement of pressure equalisation tubes can be done for relief..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
