What Causes Cold And Severe Chest Pain?

Hi, I have had a cold for the last three days but yesterday the middle of my chest started to hurt. I was so bad I didn t wanna move. It still hurts today just not as intense it hurts when i move my head in any direction or move a certain way. I was wondering if I should maybe get it checked out or it s just cause I am sick. I never had this issue before. It s more like a sharp pain vs. a sore chest from coughing.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi welcome to HCM...

Here there is possibilities of acute lung infection like pneumonia , bronchitis or pleural effusion that can lead chest pain...

For that auscultation done and chest x ray needs to be done...
If bronchitis there spirometry will help in assessing severity ...
CBC and CRP also done here ...
Full course of suitable antibiotic needed ...

If bronchi constriction present than bronchodilator given in form of nebulization or tablet ...

If inflammation more short term steroid can be given....

According to cause further treatment guided ....

Advise : Pulmonologist consultation for examination.....

Hope you recover fast ...
