What Causes Cold Feet And Hands While Recovering From Cold?

Hi doctor can i ask? Why my son have a cold hands and feet after he got sick? But he still have cough? Is this normal or not? Last week he got sick, fever, cough and runny nose, but now his fine. But still have, cold feet and hands? Why? I want to know the answer thank you.

Hello,

Having cold hands and feet are indicative of possible problems related to:

- neuropathy (nerve damages)
- (occlusion) blood vessels in the extremities.
- rheumatological problems (e.g. Raynaud's phenomenon)
- intermittent claudicatio

You are reporting to have done several tests, but no diagnosis. At this point, I highly recommend to run:

- Doppler ultrasound of arms and legs
- EMG study
- abdominal ultrasound
- MRI of the spinal cord
- complete blood count

Depending on the tests results, specific treatment will be prescribed.
