What Causes Cold Sensation And Pain Down The Right Thigh?
I have been having ice cold / hot pain shooting down the top of my right thigh.It started about 6 weeks ago and felt like I had spilled an ice cold drink on my leg. I started feeling it when standing but now it occurs anytime. It has become painful and occurs several times a week. I had gastric bypass surgery on 9/21/15, still have my gall bladder and have lost 100 pounds in 14 months.

Cold sensation & pain down the right side is commonly due to Meralgia paresthetica when the lateral femoral cutaneous nerve gets compressed. Other medical conditions causing similar symptoms are Arachnoiditis & Peripheral Neuropathy. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a Neurologist/GP. Get EMG, NCS or Nerve biopsy done.
Take vitamin B6, B12 & vitamin E rich food or supplements. Maintain healthy weight, wear loose fitting cotton clothes. Take Naproxen or acetaminophen, one sos for symptomatic relieve. Sterois shots are effective but should be taken under a GP. Physical therapy is recommended under a PT. Your treatment will depend on the severity of the symptoms & pathology detected.
