What Causes Cold Sensation On The Face While On Heart Medication?

Yes, I have been diagnoised with congestive heart failure and diabetes II. Lately I have had goose bumps all the time, my face and arms are cold, really cold like freezing air is on them. Could this be a side effect of medications? I am tired, my back and neck hurt, no energy at all. When I eat I feel sick to stomach and have to lay down. YYYY@YYYY

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Yes it may be drug effect. Usually beta blocker drugs as Metoprolol or Atenolol cause such symptoms. Also get your blood pressure checked as it may be low at rest then dosage has to be adjusted. Gastric upset are other symptoms. For gastric upset you may take tab Pantoprazole two times and Domperidone two times. As these are prescription drugs please contact your local doctor he will prescribe these. Start taking any multivitamin antioxidant combination once a day.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
