Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, my LO is a year old and is cutting for teeth on top. She has been running a fever and has a stuffy nose for about three days now. But this morning I noticed her having cold sweats ? Her body was very cold and she was sweating but she didn t run a fever that I was aware of? Is this because of teething or something else?
Very likely your daughter is having a viral infection. Teething does not cause fever in children but it is found that during teething children are more prone to infections. This is a normal process and there is nothing to worry as long as the child is eating well and active as usual. Normally, the body reduces the high temperature by sweating so it is normal for your child to be sweated and have no fever.
I hope this answers your query and is helpful to you. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General and Family Physician
