What Causes Colored Streak In The Fingernails?

Hello, i have noticed a very light brown streak running down one of my fingernails, it starts from the middle top and ends at the bottom right of the nail and gets bigger at the bottom. Also, on my other hand there is a very small brown dot on my nail. What are these symptoms for? Thank You

As per your complain black or brown spots or streaks on nails also known as Melanonychia can be due to a number of causes like ageing, trauma to the nails,underlying systemic disease, side effect of medications, nutritional deficiency while can also be due to Nail Melanoma..

I would suggest you to consult a Dermatologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..
He can advise you investigations like Nail biopsy and blood investigations to rule out the exact cause of the problem and treatment can be planned accordingly..

As of now you can apply nail enamel to mask the discolouration.
Take multivitamin supplements..
