What Causes Confusion And Anxiety After Increasing Sinemet Dosage?

My husband has been on sine met for 5 years they recently increased his dosage and he is experiencing confusion restlessness and anxiety I would like to know the side effects of this drug. He went from 4 tablets per day to 6 per day can this increase cause the problems I am seeing?

Sinemet is a combination of Carbidopa+Levodopa and is used to treat Parkinsonism which is characterized by muscle spasm, tremors and poor muscle control.

As your husband is experiencing confusion restlessness and anxiety they are the side effects of sinemet and these symptoms may or may not increase with time, but as you already have these symptoms ,they come under the severe side effects of Sinemet.

You should immediately take him to the doctor so that he can adjust the dose according to your husbands body tolerance for better results.

Till the time you go to your doctor i would suggest you to take the older dosage which was not causing any problem and the dosage should be increased once you get him evaluated by the doctor..

YOU SHOULD SEE THE DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY..
