My dad is 51 years old and from last two days he has a cough stuck in his throat and also acid in his stomach and also he has not eaten from last two days he said that it might be cough that is not allowing acid to come up as a burp and also he feel uncomfortable when he sits or sleep I would really apreciatte your response
Thanks for asking at Healthcare Magic. I read your question and I understand your concern. Gastroesophageal reflux causes reflex of acids that irritates throat and provoking cough. I would like advise you to start him on proton pump inhibitor like omeprazole 40 mg thirty minute before breakfast for at least 2 weeks. Also give him antacids. Tell him to drink at least 8-12 glasses of water per day. Keep two pillows under head. Take dinner early in the evening. Hope it helps best.
