Hi, i am hearing constant beep or ringing in my ears snd mostly in left one. First i had cold flu fever and later ear pain. I took allegra and got relief from ear pain but the ringing is still there. Its been 10 days. I am worried about this. Please reply
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Ringing sensation in the ear is called 'tinnitus'. This commonly occurs when there is partial occlusion in the external ear due to impacted wax or in the middle ear due to edema following infection or allergy. Based on your previous history of being treated for flu, this must be caaued due to edema and congestion in the middle ear. Gradually it should subside on its own. In case it is bothering you, you can take decongestant medications along with steam inhalation to reduce congestion and edema effectively. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
