Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Since this morning I have a bitter taste in my mouth all day. Everything I put in my mouth has a bitter taste. I an not taking any medications. I take a calcium supplement with vit D & magnesium & zinc once a day, and a biotin capsule, in addition to this I use HRT 2x a week.
Thanks for your query . The metallic taste you mention in query is most probably occur due to intake of vitamin D as one of the side effect of it .
I would suggest you to stop taking vitamin D supplement immediately . Instead take natural diet rich in vitamin D . You can take vitamin D naturally by exposing yourself to sun for some time (best way to get vitamin D) , taking 2 glasses of milk , mushroom and nuts .
It will take few days for metallic taste to go away . Till then start suck on peppermint candy or place cardamom or clove in your mouth.
If condition doesn't get better in a week then consult doctor for proper evaluation and to find out exact cause .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get We Soon. Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
